Adell Porter Williams, 81, died Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Mrs. Williams was born April 13, 1938, to Ervin McCants and Rosa Lee Lundy in Barlow Bend in Clark County, Ala. Attending school in Clark County, she later moved to Huxford Camp on Highway 41, worked as a hairdresser and was a member of Huxford Baptist Church. She later relocated to Pearidge Road in Brewton and had worked at Ole South, Ramona Inn, Willie's, Ole Willie's, David's Catfish, Brewton County Club, and Oak's Cafe there.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29, at Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W.J. Dailey and Bishop Robert McWilliams officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Williams is survived by 11 children, Rosie (Simmie) Benjamin of Lauderhill, Fla., Walter J. Williams and James Williams, both of Lithonia, Ga., Shirley (Clarence) Dubose and Elmira (Alphonzo) Wiley, Calvin Williams and Shannon (Anthony) Rankin all of Brewton, Judy (Patrick) McIntosh of Stone Mountain, Ga., Nathaniel (Rhonda) Williams of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Jeffery (Tycious) Williams of Pensacola, and Monica (Holland) Perryman of Millbrook, Ala.; four siblings, Cleo McCants of Atmore, Willie Lundy of Denver, Colo., Robert Lundy of Brewton and Patricia Lundy of Modesto, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, James Williams; one son, Willie James Williams; siblings, Octavia Howard, Ervin McCants, Ernest Lee Lundy, Clare Mae Jones, Rosie Lee McCants, Albert McCants and John McCants; and numerous other family members.
