New Beginnings gets $1,500 grant

New Beginnings Ministries, Inc./Compassion for Brewton has been awarded a 'Thanks for making a difference' grant for $1,500 by the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation.

Atmore Attorney Charles R. Godwin nominated New Beginnings for the grant.

“We are so appreciative that you nominated this organization and encouraged them to submit an application for our grant,” Nikki Tucker Thomas, executive director of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation wrote to Godwin. “Please relay to New Beginnings Ministries, Inc./Compassion for Brewton that the foundation considers their services to be very important to their community and the individuals they serve.”

Escambia County Bar Association President Wade Hartley recently presented New Beginnings Director Bo Bell with the ceremonial check.

The Alabama Civil Justice Foundation was founded in 1992 by a group of attorneys with the Alabama Association for Justice (formerly the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association). It is primarily a grantmaker, having awarded more than $12 million to nonprofit organizations assisting Alabama's disadvantaged families and children.
