Doris Hooks Seward, 88, died Sunday, June 16, 2019, in a Brewton healthcare facility.
Mrs. Seward was a native and long-time resident of Escambia County, Ala. who had relocated to Brewton from Helena, Ga. A member of the North Brewton Baptist Church, she worked as a seamstress for a number of years at Judy Bond.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with pastor Shaphan Helms officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Seward is survived by one daughter-in-law, Janice McCarter of Georgia; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Seward was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Seward; two sons, Steve McCarter and Joseph McCarter; two daughters, Kathy Durden and Teresa Shipman; and one brother, James Fletcher Hooks.
