Billy to seek fourth term on GOP

Escambia County District Attorney Steve Billy has switched to the Republican Party and announced he will seek a fourth term in 2022 on the GOP ballot.
"I'm the same person I was when I ran in 2004," Billy said. "The Democratic Party has shifted drastically to the left, which is inconsistent with my personal views and beliefs."
Billy, 61, is a native of Brewton and a 1975 graduate of T.R. Miller High School. He attended Jefferson Davis State Junior College, the University of Alabama and Auburn University.
