The Ridge Road Water System will soon go through some major upgrades after the Escambia County Commission agreed to seek a $350,000 Community Development Block Grant on behalf of the city of Brewton.
Following a public hearing with no objections, Brewton Utilities Superintendent Ray Madden said he was confident the city would be awarded the grant. A $35,000 match will be required, which will be paid for by the Brewton Utilities Board.
