Steven Wayne Carter, 44, died Saturday, May 25, 2019, in Destin, Fla.
Mr. Carter was a native of Ocean Port, N.J., and former resident of Byrneville, Fla. who had resided in Jay, Fla. for the past six years. A 1992 graduate of Century High School, he was employed with CSX Railroad for the past 13 years. He was also a member of both the Jay Band Boosters and Pine Level Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at Pine Level Baptist Church with Revs. Brian Oakes and Nathan Brown officiating. Burial followed at Pine Level Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Dawn Carter of Jay; two sons, Xavier Carter of Casper, Wyo. and Devin Enfinger of Jay; two daughters, Kaedence Carter of Casper and Brittany Lewis of Jay; his parents, Lance C. (Mary Alice) Carter of Century; and three brothers, Matt (Dawn) Carter of McDavid, Fla., Mark (Shila) Carter of Byrneville, Fla. and William (Marissa) Rawlinson of Norfolk, Va.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by four grandparents, Sanford C. and Alice Bush and Lance and Nina Carter.
