Junita E. Salter

Junita E. Salter, 75, of Atmore, died Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Mrs. Salter was a native of Atmore who attended Escambia County Training School and worked as a dietician at Atmore Nursing Care, where she retired from. She was a member of Harris Street AOH Church of God where she served on the Mother's Board.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ #1 with Rev. Kelvin Williams, Overseer Shawon Salter, Eulogist and Bishop Robert Grissett officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mrs. Salter is survived by two sons, Winston (Nebral D.) Salter of Mobile and Shawon (Nerissa) Salter of Atmore; one daughter, Valerie Salter of Atmore; her mother, Emma Curry-Frye of Orangeburg, S.C.; three brothers, Willie Frye and Edward Frye, both of Eugene, and Ray Charles Smith of hattiesburg, Miss.; seven sisters, Zola (Robert) Grissett, Judith Dobbs, Sandra (Willie) Knight, and Elizabeth English, all of Atmore, and Ethel Frye of Atlanta, Debra Jackson of Pensacola, and Elizabeth Frye of Eugene, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and others family members and friends.

Mrs. Salter was preceded in death by her father, Ollie James Frye; two brothers, Ollie James Frye, Jr. and Freddie Lee Frye; and two sisters, Willie M. Shoemo and Bernita Ward.
