Spice, meth found on three

March 28, 2019

Two separate traffic stops in Flomaton ended with three people going to jail on drug charges after officers discovered spice and methamphetamine.

On March 25, Cassandra L. Smith, 29, 3487 Old Atmore Road, Flomaton, and Ryan Wade Stephens, 24, 40 Hudson Hill Road, Century, were both arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (spice) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports, Flomaton police pulled over Smith for having an expired tag. The officer reported when he approached the vehicle he noticed a green flakey substance in the lap of the passenger, later identified as Stephens.

Stephens told the officer the substance was from rolling a marijuana cigarette earlier. The report noted the officer found a cigarillo pack with one missing inside a Hardee's bag. The officer also found spice in Smith's possession and she told him she got it from Stephens.

In addition to the drug charges, Smith was issued citations for having an expired tag and no proof of insurance.

On March 26, Alexander William Miller, 23, 421 Morris Lane, Brewton, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth).

According to reports, Miller was pulled over at 4:19 p.m. for not having a plainly visible tag (due to a tint). Following the stop, the officer discovered the tag on the vehicle was registered to another vehicle.

The officer also discovered Flomaton had a warrant for Miller's arrest for failing to appear in court on a marijuana charge.

While talking to Miller, the officer reported he admitted to having meth in his pants.

In addition to the drug charge, Miller was cited for driving while license was suspended, having a switched tag and not having a plainly visible license plate.
