A Flomaton man sought after by law enforcement following a report of an armed disturbance March 16 faces a felony drug charge following a search of his clothing.
Steven Ray Gresham, 36, 5771 Wolf Log Road, was arrested when officers dispatched to an information armed disturbance searched his clothing and found a small plastic baggie containing a clear crystal-like substance and a glass pipe used to ingest narcotics in his pants pockets according to an Escambia County Sheriff's Office report.
The report said the officers were in route to the armed disturbance, dispatch advised the suspect Gresham was last seen driving a black Jeep Cherokee at the Food Giant in Century. Upon arrival, the Flomaton Police Department was out with the black Cherokee, which had been adandoned in Flomaton's jurisdiction just over the Alabama state line.
The Flomaton Police Department discovered a shotgun in the rear of the Jeep, which was seized and placed in Flomaton's evidence unit, the report stated.
While on scene, officers were advised Gresham was creating a disturbance at the Food Giant in Century. Since Gresham was a suspect in an armed disturbance and possibly armed, he was taken into custody at gunpoint, according to the report.
After a search incident to arrest, Gresham was arrested and charged with one count felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Escambia County Jail and given a total bond of $3,000.
