John Henry Marshall, 72, died Friday, March 1, 2019.
Mr. Marshall was born Oct. 16, 1946, to Adolf and Ester Marshall in Atmore, Ala. A graduate of Escambia County Training School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. A lifelong member of The House of God Which is the Church of the Living God the Pillar, Ground and Truth without Controversy Keith Dominion in Freemanville, Ala. and employed by Monsanto, where he worked for more than 30 years. He enjoyed sports in his leisure time.
The funeral was held at 12 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at The House of God Which is the Church of the Living God The Pillar, Ground and Truth without Controversy Keith Dominion with Elders Shirley Dean and Jeanette Loot officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Abner Marshall of Atmore; three sons, Jamil (Kandace) Marshall, Kyler Marshall and Darrell Marshall; two daughters, Shannon (Willie) Lee and India Marshall; nine brothers, Eugene (Geraldine) Marshall, Anthony (Magaline) Marshall, Kevin Marshall, McNair (JoAnn) Ramsey, Laura Pettway, Wiley (Shirley) Abner, John Abner, Rev. Dan Abner and Johnnie Mae Davis; three sisters, Mary A. Marshall, Maxine Marshall and Deborah (Cheryl) Marshall; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces cousins and other relatives.
Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Glenn Marshall and Eddie Marshall.
