Locals make lists, graduate at Alabama

Many local students from Atmore, Brewton, East Brewton and Flomaton were among the total of 12,332 students enrolled during the 2018 fall term at The University of Alabama who were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).

Students who made the Dean’s List are: from Atmore: Scarlet Martin and Mikayla Spruill; from Brewton: Kenneth Brazile, Duncan Brittain , Katherine Greco, Leslie Holmes, McKinley Jenkins , Joshua Kendall, Trinidad Miller, Tyler Reid, Zachary Whitworthand Andrew Williamson; from East Brewton: Dillan Simmons; and from Flomaton: Saharah Allen.

Students who made the President’s List are: from Atmore: Tristan Portwood, Gabrielle Bohannon and Dana Vickrey; from Brewton: Margaret Adams, Daisha Flowers, Tucker Mcdaniel and Robert Smith; and from Flomaton: James Hart.

The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Three local students were among the 2,065 degrees awarded by The University of Alabama during its fall commencement Dec. 15. Those are Noah Coon of Atmore, with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science; Joshua Kendall of Brewton, with a B.S. in Commerce Business Administration; and Charnesia Knight of Brewton, with a Bachelor of Social Work.
