Hubert Sydney Reed, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018 in Bay Minette, Ala.
Mr. Reed was a native of Washington County who had resided in Bay Minette for the past 44 years. Retired from Piggly Wiggly as a manager with more than 20 years of service, he was an avid golfer and a member of the Full Power Holiness Church.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bros. Joe Welch and Eddie Sullivan officiating. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeral Dean Bulkhault Reed of Bay Minette; three children, Hubert S. (Daphne) Reed, Jr. and Felisa Reed (Lenzy) Williams, both of Bay Minette, and Jason Carl (Ashley) Reed of Perdido, Ala.; eight siblings, Virginia Fillingham and Myrtice Wilson, both of Mobile, Joann Chastang, Norma Jernigan, Larry Reed and Charlene Sullivan, all of Foley, Ala., Otis Reed of Bay Minette and J.C. Reed of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. J.C. Reed and Mary Reed; and two siblings, Carl Reed and Irma Lee Partin.
