James Elbert Harris, 60, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.
Mr. Harris was born July 9, 1958 to James and Voncile Harris in Century, where he grew up and graduated from Century High School in 1977. He later married and joined the U.S. Army in 1980, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He was employed at Grede, Inc. in Brewton for 27 years.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Bethel AFM Church of God with Pastor Bishop Russell Fountain, Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Century Cemetery with Jackson-McMurray Funeral Services directing.
Mr. Harris is survived by his partner, Barbara Ellis of Flomaton; four children, Tawana Harris and Alicia Harris, both of Century, Dementria Ellis of Atmore and James Harris, Jr. of Flomaton; one brother, Ronald (Arcilla) Harris of Pensacola; two sisters, Evelyn (Andre) McCall of Killeen, Texas and Cathelena Gaston of Pensacola; six grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents.
