Dorothy Frances Cole “Dot” Hendrix, 88, of Atmore, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 in Atmore.
Mrs. Hendrix was born Dec. 30, 1929, to David DuBose and Martha Schulz Cole in Monroe County, Ala. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore, where she taught Sunday school, Vacation bible School and Awana.
The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church of Atmore with Dr. Larry Patterson and Bert Hendrix officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hendrix is survived by two sons, Bert (Sandra) Hendrix of Mobile and Robert (Melanie) Hendrix of Atmore; one daughter, Sheri (Jack) Darby of Atmore; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Herbert “Bill” Hendrix; her parents; and two sisters, Elisabeth McCaskey and Ann Byrd.
