Donald Ray Helton, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Helton was a native of Huxford and former resident of Atmore who has resided in Cantonment, Fla. since 1965. A 1962 graduate of the University of Alabama with bachelor's degree in finance, he was a 7th grade science teacher at Ransom Middle School and an Elder in the Remnant Church of Latter-Day Saints.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Evangelists Les Kelly and Dick Dour officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Helton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy Helton of Cantonment; one son, Michael (Eric O'Briant) Helton of Kennesaw, Ga.; one brother, Gary (Lola Alverson) Helton; one sister, Glenda (Alan) Rundall of Lillian, Ala.; and numerous other family members.
