Moye's charges are upgraded

Now facing felonies for touching students

Former Jay High School baseball coach Brian Joseph Moye, 47, was arrested July 11 when previous misdemeanor charges of battery were upgraded to two counts felony charges of lewd and lascivious behavior after further investigation into allegations by two of his former Jay High School students during the 2016-2017 school year.

The initial charges arose after two female students, ages 14 and 16, made complaints against the suspect that he had touched them inappropriately. Moye was arrested August 31, 2017, following the investigation and given a bond of $6,000 on the misdemeanor charges.

Further investigation of the allegations since he was initially arrested lead law enforcement to upgrade the charges to two counts felony lewd lascivious behavior and Moye was arrested by Santa Rosa County deputies and transported to jail on July 11, 2018.

Moye is out of jail on a $25,000 bond.
