A large crowd gathered on the banks of Murder Creek July 4 hoping their rubber duck would cross the finish line first in East Brewton's annual duck race to help fund the Fourth of July fireworks celebration. Chelsea Caro's duck crossed the finish line first and she walked away with the top $500 prize. Barbara Salter received $200 for second place, James Ward got $100 for third and Mike Lambert donated his $50 winnings back to the city with the fourth place duck.
