Complaints prompt ATV crackdown

Flomaton Police Chief Bryan Davis said officers will begin cracking down on four-wheelers, golf carts and other ATV's being driven on public roads.

Davis said his office has received numerous complaints about non street-legal vehicles on public roads.

He said to be driven on a public road a vehicle must be tagged, carry insurance and have all proper lights.

Lambert noted that law does not apply to non-motorized vehicles like bicycles, but did note state law requires anyone under the age of 16 to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.

“We don't want to see anybody get hurt,” Davis said. “We're asking people to keep those vehicles off the streets or we will be forced to start issuing citations.”
