A Satsuma man serving in the Alabama National Guard lost his life and another man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 Thursday morning.
John Wesley Waldrop, 38, was killed when the 2009 military Humvee he was operating left the roadway and overturned at the 63.7 mile marker, six miles north of Atmore, according to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency press release. Waldrop was pronounced dead on the scene.
The report said passenger Justin Cecil McCullough, 25, of Grand Bay, was transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital in Brewton.
