A Walnut Hill man faces multiple felony drug possession and intent to distribute charges after deputies conducting a traffic stop Tue., May 29, discovered marijuana and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and other drug-related materials in the vehicle.
Brian Arnette Moore, 43, 6400 Rockaway Creek Rd., was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, and intent to manufacture or deliver during a traffic stop when a deputy observed a brown purse and found inside a meth pipe, according to an Escambia County Sheriff's Office report.
The report stated an officer initially observed a 2004 Pontiac on Highway 29 with the driver's headlight and tag light inoperable. When the officer turned around to catch up, the vehicle appeared to be making evasive actions and eluding law enforcement. Another deputy located the vehicle on Pinestead Road and made a traffic stop, where Moore was identified as the passenger, the report said.
The deputies observed two purses in the back seat of the vehicle and the suspect admitted both belonged to him. The suspect admitted to smoking meth when the deputy asked, according to the report.
While searching the vehicle, the deputy located a brown sunglass case containing a baggie of meth and numerous empty Zip Lock bags. Also inside the brown purse a broken meth pipe was located, the report said. Underneath the brown purse was a black purse. Located inside the purse was marijuana and a digital scale. Underneath the driver's seat of the vehicle, a deputy located a small baggie of methamphetamine, the report stated.
A search of the suspect revealed a small baggie of methamphetamine in his left front pant's pocket.
All baggies of meth, along with the unbroken glass pipe, were field tested for methamphetamine which all yielded positive results. The report said the deputy gathered from his training and experience that having a digital scale and empty baggies coupled with narcotics is consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Both suspects were transported to the Escambia County Jail and given a total bond of $13,000.
