Mother, two more arrested on human trafficking of children

Trio accused of swapping drugs for man to have sex with Kelley's underage daughters

Kimberly Kelley, already charged with six counts of rape II, has now been charged with human trafficking II along with a Brewton woman and a Castleberry man for allegedly arranging for adult males to have sex with her underage daughters.

Kelley, 46, 210 Ball Lane, Lot 32, East Brewton, Brittany Shaddix, 27, 104 Avalon St., Brewton, and Claude Thomas Jr., 40, Wille Wiley Senior Circle, Castleberry, have all be charged with human trafficking II on warrants obtained by the East Brewton Police Department.

Monday, Kelley saw her $500,000 bond on the rape II charges increase by another $500,000 on the new charge. Thomas is being held on $500,000 and Shaddix is being held on $250,000 bond.

The arrest warrant states Kelley received drugs as payment for allowing her underage daughter to have sex with Thomas.

Thomas is accused of providing drugs and money to Kelley and Shaddix for permission and delivery of the underage girl to him for sex.

Shaddix is accused of transporting the minor female to Thomas to have sex in exchange for drugs.

"The evidence gathered supported all subjects were involved in exploiting underage children," said East Brewton Police Chief Kenny Brazille. "As the case continues to move forward more arrests will follow."

Brazille described Thomas as a 44-year old drug dealer and drugs and sex are at the center of the investigation.

Kelley was arrested earlier this month on the rape II charges after being accused of allowing two adult males to have sexual intercourse with her daughters, ages 12 and 14.

Davely Miller, 20, 119 East Rankin St., Brewton, and Marcus D. Paul, 19, 67 Maddox Loop, Brewton, were each charged with two counts of rape II for having sex with Kelley's underage daughters. Both were jailed on $250,000.

Chief Brazille said police were investigating another case in the trailer park where Kelley lived that prompted the investigation. He said residents told officers that young girls living in the trailer were not going to school and said they felt "inappropriate" things were going on inside the mobile home.

"She knew boys were staying in the home with underage girls," Brazille said after the original arrest. "She was allowing 18 year olds to sleep with a 12 year old."

Brazille said this week the investigation is continuing and says if anyone has any information they should contact the East Brewton Police Department at 251-867-4865.
