17th Annual Jay Rodeo

Spirits were high and whinnies were heard, Friday and Saturday night in Jay, Fla., where crowds geared up to cheer on competitors in the 17th annual Jay Rodeo. Cowboys and cowgirls came from all over the south to throw in their hats for a chance to walk away with a first place blue ribbon. Events included everything from bronc riding to steer wrestling, and even the kiddos got the chance to learn in the crowd pleasing mutton riding competition. Vendors raised money by selling western goods and the smell of funnel cake filled the air as the powdered sugar rose to mix with the kicked-up dust above the heads of the watching bystanders. Fun was had by all and local residents once again made the rodeo a success.
