Only one contested race now for primary

Since last week five Democrats have qualified for local elections in Escambia County (Ala.) for the June 5 primaries and candidates for both parties have until 5 p.m. Friday to qualify with their local chairman.

At this point there will be only one contested local race on the ballot in June with incumbent District 5 county commissioner David Quarker facing Karean Reynolds on the Democratic ticket.

Other Democrats to qualify since last week are incumbent District 3 county commissioner Larry White; incumbent District 1 county commissioner David Stokes; and Mike Lambert for sheriff.
