Rare snow falls lighten hearts

Hey there readers! This past weekend’s weather was sure an unusual event. It’s been so many years since we have seen such a beautiful snow event like we did over the weekend. If you are like me and 45 years old this was the third time I remember in my life that the snow was this thick and stayed with us for a while. The weather certainly made for a beautiful time for Jay’s Christmas parade, and to see all the little ones playing with snow while watching the parade go by and of course getting their candy. We worked on our Church float throughout the week with the cold and the rain really giving us a hard time in getting it ready but it was sure worth it to see all the smiles on the faces of those at Parade. Of course I was in the fire truck with the heater on while the youth and adults of our church were freezing on the float haha!

The change of event of our weather and just the fact that so many younger than say 17, then you may not remember snow that thick in your life time just really is so very cool to have seen. I know the last time I remember snow this thick at my house my boys were around 5 and 7 and they are now 19 and 22. But hearing about snow and seeing snow on T.V. is so much different than in person, even with going and being in snow somewhere other than home it is just not the same. I just found myself staring at the snow and the trees and yard in awe at how beautiful it truly was then by the end of the day it was gone and things were back to the norm and live continued on, the little birds were like “what just happed” same as all the other little animals around. Yet there had just taken place a great event in all our lives.

Now can we compare a snow day to the return of the lord day? Well in my mind I can because just like a great snow day in our little town we all talk a lot about the return of Jesus and we are hopefully all ready and looking up for this day to take place just as with the report of snow I was looking up to the sky to see if I could spot the snow or was it just more rain. I am one looking up to see Jesus, I am looking a ready, looking and wishing to have a great event like His return take place in my life. I seen the weather report for days saying that snow was coming. Some I would talk to said no way not gonna happen. Some I spoke to about the snow said well it has happened before so maybe. But never this less the report was that the snow would come and it did and it took so many by surprise, so many was in shock at the thickness, so many was at shock that it happened in their life time yet it happened.

The report is in and the bible is calling for Jesus, the reports speak of his return and the writers of old and new tell of the coming again. The angles said why do you stare up as Jesus ascended because as he ascended so shall He will return. Acts 1:11 “Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” And just as the snow falling and people were in shock so shall they be on the day the Lord returns in the sky to call us home. This is the season to celebrate Jesus birth but lest not forget that the birth took place so the sacrifice could be made for all our sins. Love you readers and Peace out in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost with Fire!!
