    The Escambia Academy Cougars dominated the Coosa Valley Rebels in the first round of the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) playoffs with a 45-14 victory Friday in Canoe.     In another home victory, the Jay Royals never trailed in its 44-16 defeat of Lighthouse Christian Friday night at Merle V. North Stadium. Jay's James Eddings put the first points on the board in the first quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run. The Royals' 2-point conversion failed, but Jay was ahead 6-0.     Students from Flomaton High School attended the UR KEYS 2 DRV Teen Driver Safety Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The one-day interactive event was held at the Orange Beach Event Center. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens. Teen drivers have crash rates three times those of drivers 20 and older per mile driven.     The Jay council approved the transfer of $28,000 left in the Sinking Fund to the General Fund to cover bills Monday night. The town's bills include a $7,000 gas payment, payroll, $10,000 annual fee for Black Mountain annual fee, and insurance is $13,000. Operations Manager Eric Seib said the transfer will assure the bills are paid until revenue is collecting in the month of November.
