School System getting closer to a crisis situation of finding qualified substitute teachers, Superintendent Michelle McClung asked the school board to consider entering a contract with Kelly Educational Services to handle placing substitutes in schools.   • Century's garbage rates will increase

    Residents in Century will see a slight increase in their garbage rates in December after the town council approved a 3.73 percent increase from Republic Services. Interim City Manager Vernon Prather explained the increase is based on the Consumer Price Index and the current contract allows Republic Services to get the increase based on the CPI.
