    Charges continued to mount against a Brewton man who was originally charged with assault I and he was back in court the following day after he was charged with domestic violence III and two counts of menacing. Timothy Wade McCall, Jr., 33, 127 Girlie Lane, was originally arrested on the assault charge and during an Oct. 12 bond hearing was given a $50,000 bond.     On Oct. 1 as Flomaton police were conducting an investigation in the Holt Subdivision, police were pulled off the investigation to respond to a 'shots fired' call at the other end of town that eventually led to the arrest of a Flomaton man for making a false report to law enforcement and obstructing a government operation.   • Slow mail forces county to re-bid signs

    Slow mail delivery prompted the Escambia County Commission to seek new bids for road signs after several of the companies who requested bid proposals didn't get the bid specifications until after the deadline. County Engineer Bill Bridges told the county commission Monday that the bids for the 2021-2022 fiscal year for road signs were mailed, but some took more than three weeks to be delivered.     The recent flooding in Brewton and East Brewton forced the Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce to cancel last weekend's PCA rodeo, but the rodeo will now be held on Friday Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6. Clay Lisenby, chamber chairperson for the rodeo, said the flooding caused about 5 inches of rain to back up at O'Bannon Park, which prompted the cancellation.   • Flomaton surpluses two buildings

    In its effort to get out of the real estate business and sell buildings owned by the town of Flomaton, the town council voted Monday afternoon to declare the buildings at 2114 and 2116 Ringold St., as surplus property, which will allow the town to negotiate the sale price without having to bid out the sale.
