    Escambia River Electric Cooperative (EREC) lobbies in both Walnut Hill and Jay, Fla., are now open. The lobbies of both facilities were closed in March to protect community health during the peak threat of COVID-19.     The Century Branch Library located at 7991 N. Century Blvd. in Century, one of Escambia County’s West Florida Public Libraries, has partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast to provide free curbside pickup meals for youth ages 18 and under at all library branch locations, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The youth must be present to receive meals.     A Jay man who used a loaded shotgun to try to get past personnel to see his wife in the hospital on May 29 faces one count felony assault with a deadly weapon.   • ECAT service will provide riders masks

    Beginning last Monday, June 1, passengers have and will be encouraged to wear face masks while riding Escambia County (Fla.) Area Transit buses (ECAT). If a rider does not already have a mask, ECAT employees will offer a mask to the passenger during the month of June to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
