    As expected, Monday's Memorial Day event on the front lawn of the Escambia County Courthouse in Brewton was a touching ceremony. To be honest, we were a little surprised to see so many people there as we continue to battle the coronavirus.     Family members and friends of fallen warriors gathered on the front lawn of the Escambia County (Ala.) Courthouse Monday morning to pay tribute to the 185 county residents who died defending the country.     A 62-year old Brewton man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 29 Sunday afternoon near Roach Road, south of Century, when a vehicle traveling north on the four-lane highway crossed the median and struck his vehicle. James Earl Moye, 62, was killed and his wife was injured in the 5:22 p.m. crash.     The Jay Town Council discussed the Bray-Hendricks Park master plan and other projects going on in the town at its Monday May 18 meeting.
