    A woman sleeping in a house on Ashford Alley in Century said she was awakened about 4 or 5 a.m. Sunday morning by the sound of gunshots and pellets from a shotgun coming through the house.     On Friday, April 8, Century Mayor Ben Boutwell met with State Rep. Michelle Salzman and Gov. Ron Desantis in Indian Pass, Fla., and was presented a check to the town of Century for $3.255 million to renovate and upgrade the town's two community centers.     Angela Flowers will become the new town clerk in Flomaton following a unanimous vote Monday afternoon by the Flomaton Town Council. Flowers will replace Carrie Moore, who recently announced her resignation to take a position with the Escambia County (Ala.) Commission. Moore's resignation becomes effective May 1.     9-wheelers using ‘Jake’ breaks inside the town limits of Flomaton will now be subject to a citation after the town council passed an ordinance Monday afternoon banning the use of of those engine compression brakes in the town.
