    Dry, windy conditions this past weekend turned into the perfect storm for brush fires as multiple fire departments scrambled around Escambia County (Ala.) putting out four fires that eventually burned 165 acres and engulfed one shed from five fires Saturday and Sunday.     In a vote of 3 to 1, the Jay Town Council approved canceling its annual July 4th fireworks show, citing shipping issues, the upcoming Bray-Hendricks park demolition and renovation. Councilwoman Nina Hendricks voted against canceling the show.     The first time Flomaton's 2022 track and field team set foot on a track this year was Saturday at the Covington County Invitational and the boys' team left Andalusia with a third place finish among 20 teams. Karl Smith started the track and field team at Flomaton High School in 2019 and Saturday's third place finish was the highest in school history. He noted the girls also finished eighth overall.
