    Three local students from Brewton have been recognized by their respective universities for their academic achievements. Allison Nelson and Mary Milligan qualified for Samford University’s dean's list, earning a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Nelson and Milligan are two out of 1,759 students named to the 2019 fall semester Dean's List.
