There was quite a row recently across the pond when a young somewhat overbearing British activist was expeditiously arrested, tried without counsel, convicted, and jailed in less than a day. The self-described citizen journalist, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon who goes by Tommy Robinson publically, was arrested outside the Leeds Crown Court for “breach of the peace.”
Robinson was livestreaming as he questioned defendants in a rape trial entering the court. Unlike America, England has restrictions on reporting of ongoing trials. He had been arrested last year for similar conduct at another rape trial and given a suspended 3 month jail sentence. This latest infraction violated his suspension, so he was promptly jailed for 13 months. The surreal video of his arrest shows a police van pull up and seven officers emerge to surround and apprehend Robinson in a public area outside the court.
Many Britons and many more around the world were appalled by the swift heavy-handed arrest and immediate incarceration. Robinson’s supporters quickly took to the streets and social media to protest this apparent gross violation of freedom of speech. Robinson’s detractors rapidly labeled him a racist and just another radical “alt-right” tool, so he does not deserve to be heard and fully deserves to be banished from polite oblivious British society.
For Americans, suppressing free speech is an outrage, but Robinson seems to have broken English law. So according to English law, he has a legitimate legal problem. Since the defendants in both cases were Muslim, the press shrugs off Robinson as a bigot and his reporting as right wing propaganda without merit, so we should disregard his warnings.
Tragically, all the hyperbolic debate on whether a “right winger” is even allowed free speech and condemning his reporting as vitriolic alt-right nonsense distracts from the real catastrophe. In his stunningly disturbing book “Easy Meat: Inside Britain's Grooming Gang Scandal,” Peter Mcloughlin documents an estimated 100-350,000 English girls have been preyed upon by ruthless sexual predators since at least 1988. “Grooming Gangs” of mostly Muslim immigrants lure teenage girls some as young as 11 years old into a life of prostitution and sex slavery. In short, England has a decade’s long growing epidemic of mass rape of young girls. And until the last few years, it has been largely ignored and perhaps covered up.
While Muslims account for only about 5% of England’s population, they rack up over 90% of sexual misconduct convictions that are painfully few in contrast to the thousands of victims. This statistic is not racist just fact. Educators, police, and social workers have failed to protect or even warn the public for fear of being branded a racist or maybe even prosecuted.
The utterly incredible and repulsive scandal is the government and media have concealed this horrid rash of nationwide raping of underage girls because the facts of these loathsome “Grooming Gangs” would appear to be a Muslim problem and that might engender animosity toward the Muslim minority. Your daughters be damned; the liberal elite are content to sacrifice thousands of young girls from the lower classes to sex slavery on the sacred altar of multiculturalism.
This pathetic charade and rampant raping was only exposed because a private group in Rotherham England was trying to help local police protect their girls. They offered assistance to the victims and kept records. Finally, those records were published in 2014 exposing about 1,400 girls in that town of just over 100,000 had been raped by Muslim Grooming Gangs the past couple decades. But Rotherham was written off as an anomaly until activists like Tommy Robinson tried to sound the alarm.
The liberal intelligentsia are intent on establishing multiculturalism because they fervently believe all cultures are equal, but they are not. Daniel Akbari, an Iranian Sharia lawyer, now writing in the United States candidly explains Islam is simply not compatible with Judeo-Christian cultures. Islam sees women as chattel or slaves; and only properly covered Muslim women deserve respect. Hence, the clash of cultures because Islam does not see raping uncovered western women as immoral.
Jailing a whistle blower trying to expose the systemic sexual exploitation of girls is a shock; and condemning any criticism of a culture that condones Grooming Gangs is a sham. But the real shame of England is ignoring the plight of their daughters.
