John Edward Brown

John Edward Brown, 74, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Atmore, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 in Fort Myers.

Mr. Brown was a native of Stockton, where he retired as a forklift operator from Standard Furniture Company with 43 years of service. He was also a member of Triumph Holiness Church.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center in Atmore with Bishop Darryl North officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Shiloh Cemetery in Nokomis with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Steven Brown of Philadelphia, Pa. and Toronto (Brenda) Brown of Atmore; one daughter, Vivian (Michael) Brown-Tolbert of Fort Myers; one brother, Larry (Denise) Brown of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; four sisters, Ocie Bell (Rayfield) Hubbard of Hurtsboro, Ala., Carrie (Mandela) Thomas of Austin, Texas, Deloris Clarke of Montgomery and Mary Artis of New Haven, Conn.; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
